It's easier than you may think to serve
high-quality food – fast

Many that attended this year’s NACS show in Las Vegas would agree, it was a great show – with lots of exciting new products and ideas to help convenience store operators earn more.

One trend of note was the increase in both the awareness of, and, interest in, foodservice. It appears that for many operators, the question is not if they will get into foodservice, but how and when. For them it’s only a matter of time.

You may have wondered about this yourself. Questions like: Do you have enough space? What about ventilation? Do you have to hire specialized labor? What type of food will you serve? Isn’t it hard and expensive?

At the Manitowoc Foodservice booth, we showed operators that getting into the foodservice business is easier than they may think. That’s because we’ve already done most of the homework.

The theme of this year’s booth was the Art and Science of Convenience. Simply put, we have studied convenience stores, determined what the challenges and opportunities are surrounding food, and ice and beverage service, and then developed the equipment systems to work in these environments. Ice and beverage innovations to
help you earn more

Servend’s Flav’r Pic™ – loaded with 16 beverage choices, 8 flavor shots and 2 ice options – cubed or crushed, all in only 30” of counter space – is the only beverage and ice dispensing system of its kind. At this years NACS show – we showed operators how they could easily turn their establishment into a beverage destination with this kind of system.

Providing choice is key. Customers tire easily of the same choices day in and day out. With the Flav’r pic, there are so many drink combinations possible – it would literally take an entire lifetime to run through them all.

One of the most unique features of the Flav’r Pic is its ability to deliver two types of ice from the one machine and dispense point.

The exclusive IcePic™ technology by Manitowoc is the only onboard ice crushing system available – allowing your customers to choose between cubed and crushed. Many operators know ice makes a difference to their customers – and now operators need not limit themselves and risk losing sales.

Manitowoc Foodservice also put the new concept Ice Bell on display. When it comes to merchandising ice-cold Grab ‘n Go beverages, this unit really does the trick.

The Ice Bell is still under development but a working model was on hand at the show demonstrating to operators how hard it would be for customers to resist grabbing one of their favorite beverages, packed cold and on ice. The unique Ice Bell self-replenishes its ice supply. Keeping beverages ice cold for your customers. Learn more
